Sexual & Reproductive Health ("PAP") Clinic
Services Provided
We provide appointments for women who do not have a family physician or who prefer a female physician, and for those who otherwise have difficulty accessing care. You do not require a referral.
You will be seen for a sexual and reproductive health visit. The pap test will be completed according to current guidelines. We place a strong emphasis on patient education.
We provide cervical cancer screening in the context of a "well woman" visit.

We thank the Alberta Cancer Board and Alberta Cervical Cancer Screening program; their community grant provided a framework for provision of care, and funding for the start-up of the PAP clinic.

You will be seen for a sexual and reproductive health visit. The pap test will be completed according to current guidelines. We place a strong emphasis on patient education.
We provide cervical cancer screening in the context of a "well woman" visit.
At your Sexual Reproductive Health ("PAP") appointment we may provide:
- Cervical cancer screening (PAP Tests);
- STI testing (screening) and education;
- Contraceptive counseling;
- HPV counseling;
- Early prenatal care;
- Blood pressure screening;
- A full visit report can be provided to your family physician at patient request.
- A separate appointment may be booked for IUD insertion. Note: During current COVID-19 protocols, we will not be providing IUD insertions in the clinic. However, our Sexual Reproductive Health doctors will be happy to organize a referral for IUD insertion for you.
- A separate appointment may be booked for a breast health consultation (see Breast Clinic).
To Book a Sexual Reproductive Health ("PAP") Appointment
When you call to book an appointment, please have the following available:
- Alberta Health Care number;
- Date of last pap test;
- Date of your last menstrual period;
- Full name & date of birth (as it appears on your AHC card);
- Current address and telephone number.
Your Visit
- You will be required to present an identification source; please bring your healthcare card and picture ID to your appointment.
- You will be required to complete a patient questionnaire prior to being seen. You can print the questionnaire from our website (see our "Resources" page), and complete and bring it with you to your appointment.
- If you are unable to speak English, please bring a translator with you.
- You must not have your menstrual period at the time of your PAP test.
- Please allow 45 minutes to one hour for your clinic visit. Patients may be seen by a nurse and a physician.
- Our waiting area is limited; for the safety and comfort of our patients, please limit other visitors. Please note that children cannot be left unsupervised in the waiting area.
- Your appointment is important to us. Although we do our best to stay on time, please understand that we provide care to the most critical patient first and your appointment may be delayed by unforeseen circumstances. We recommend that you come prepared for delays. Thank you for your understanding.
- Abnormal results will be reviewed at a follow-up appointment.

Clinic and Cancellation Policy
All patients must have active Alberta Health Care coverage.
Please provide two full business days' notice to cancel or change an appointment. There is a $50 fee for late change of your appointment (e.g. no show, cancelled appointment without sufficient prior notice, late show). Your account must be reconciled for future booking with the clinic.
The Sundance Clinic is a scent-free environment. Please refrain from using fragrance when you visit.
Please do not bring food or drink into the clinic.
